A Renaissance Education…
in the Silicon Valley
Waldorf School of the Peninsula was established in 1984 by a small group of parents and educators, who were motivated by the great need, in the highly technological area of Silicon Valley, for a school that would address the heart and will as well as the mind of the child. This whole-child approach, which allows young people to blossom as their physical, moral, emotional and cognitive capacities unfold, is the cornerstone of our philosophy, curriculum and environment.
Nursery & Kindergarten
Waldorf School of the Peninsula’s early childhood programs create a nurturing atmosphere of wonder, beauty, respect and security for children to begin their life-long process of engagement with the world.
In the elementary grades, the class teacher brings lessons alive through vivid characterizations and absorbing activities that heighten students’ curiosity and engage them both intellectually and emotionally.
WSP’s middle school curriculum and programs are designed specifically to meet the unique emotional and social needs of young adolescents. Students’ awakening intellects are ready for critical and objective thinking.
High school students discover new capacities for critical thinking and forming independent judgments. Their compelling interest in seeking out ideals drives them to contemplate life’s big questions.
