The Foundation Studies Program and Waldorf Teacher Education Program of Rudolf Steiner College

The Foundation Studies and Waldorf Teacher Education Program focus on developing a profound understanding of the nature of the human being and cultivating self-knowledge through strengthening innate capacities in the student. The program awakens independent thinking and healthy judgment about the deeper issues of human life, schools powers of perception, enriches artistic faculties, develops social sensitivity, and strengthens capacities for practical life. The Foundation Studies Program, the first year of the teacher education program, is open to those interested in becoming teachers or seeking further training as part of their professional work. It is also open to anyone looking for new directions or meaning in life.

This program offered by Rudolf Steiner College arises out of the work of Rudolf Steiner whose innovative ideas and discoveries have inspired a whole spectrum of practical activities world-wide—in the arts, agriculture, care of the handicapped, medicine, architecture, and economics—as well as education.

Classes for the Los Altos Foundation Studies and Waldorf Teacher Education Program of Rudolf Steiner College are located at Waldorf School of the Peninsula and take place on Monday and Thursday evenings from 6:30- 9:45 pm.
